The beneficial warmth of moor, fango and mud was discovered early on. Mud baths were documented as a natural remedy as early as the 14th century.

The climate has long had a major influence on well-being. Those seeking relaxation are most likely to find it in an environment with a balanced temperature and constant humidity.

Kneipp cures are probably among the best-known water treatments. However, Kneipp therapy also includes nutrition, herbs, exercise and inner balance in addition to the water pillar.

Outpatient preventive services -
financed by the health insurance companies

"I can only go to the doctor when I'm really ill, because the costs won't be covered before then!" You often hear this or similar sentences. But this is a misconception! Statutory health insurance companies already finance your preventive healthcare in the form of outpatient preventive services in the event of imminent illness.

Stress, excessive demands, an unhealthy lifestyle or double burdens - in the long term, all of these can lead to illness in the worst case scenario. It is therefore essential that you take the first signs of an impending illness, such as persistent exhaustion or sleep disorders, seriously. Talk to your doctor and take precautions.

Because many people don't realise this: Insured persons are generally entitled to medical treatment and care. This is not only necessary for existing illnesses and complaints, but also to prevent illness (§ 23 Para. 2 SGB V). This type of cure is therefore a preventive cure that your doctor can certify as medically necessary. This is not to be confused with a rehabilitation programme.

Rehab:

Rehab, short for rehabilitation, is used to regain strength after a serious illness or operation. It can be carried out on an inpatient basis in a special clinic or on an outpatient basis. In order to apply for rehabilitation, a medical application is required, which certifies the medical necessity of the measure. Pension insurance or health insurance will usually cover the costs if the rehab is deemed necessary. It is important that the application is submitted early in order to find a suitable facility in good time and to plan the rehabilitation programme optimally.

Signs of impending illness

  • Persistent sleep disorders
  • Physical and mental exhaustion
  • Unwanted extreme weight gain or loss
  • Extreme mood swings and restlessness

What types of cure are there?

A compact cure is a special type of outpatient preventive treatment. It follows a holistic approach in which not only the complaints are treated, but also the causes. The compact cure is more intensive than a normal preventive treatment and usually takes place in groups.

A medical measure lasting several weeks that allows parents and children to relax and promote health together. These cures are particularly aimed at families with health problems. They offer not only medical and therapeutic support, but also targeted recreational activities. The aim is to sustainably improve the physical and emotional health of the family members. Mother-father-child cures are carried out on a doctor's prescription and are usually financed by health insurance companies or other social insurance providers.

The Kneipp cure comprises the five pillars according to Pastor Kneipp: water, exercise, nutrition, herbs and inner order. Kneipp's natural healing method is the only holistic one in Europe, which is why it is also known as Traditional European Medicine. As such, Kneipp therapy ensures the healthy interaction of body, mind and soul. Kneipp therapy can be used preventively for many illnesses. However, Kneipp can also help with acute illnesses.

Follow-up rehabilitation (AHB) is an outpatient or inpatient medical rehabilitation service. The special feature is that it can only be considered for certain illnesses and immediately (at the latest 2 weeks after discharge) follows inpatient hospital treatment.

Climatic cures utilize the special climatic conditions of the location. The healing climatic effect depends on the purity, humidity, movement and warming of the air, the strength and duration of the sunlight, the weather and atmospheric influences, as well as the time of year.

Here, water from healing springs is drunk regularly over a longer period of time for therapeutic purposes.

Self-paying patients can benefit from first-class preventative services in the spas and health resorts. The tailor-made spa programs support health and relaxation at the highest level. Invest in your well-being and treat yourself to a break that will bring tangible long-term benefits for your health.
